PETER HÜBNER: Here I only want to make it clear, that I practice TM – Transcendental Meditation since 35 years to my fullest sat­is­fac­tion. My study – as well as the study of quite a few other persons – with the famous sage Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in the Himalayas to become a teacher of this outstanding mental technique was paid for by the Foreign Office in 1968/1969 under minister Willy Brandt, who for sure considered this very carefully, and I think, this investment of the Federal Republic of Germany has paid off.

That in the last thirty years the German Lutheran Church – and this time, as a special exception, in a certain co-ordination with its Catholic mother church – succeeded to denigrate the TM-organizations so successfully via its many associations, political parties and media, is simply due to the fact, that the German Lutheran Church had a panic fear, these TM-organizations could be a sect too, just like itself, and that it wanted to outstrip now the German Lutheran Church in the field of religious failure in Germany.
But the TM-organizations, which were given “a bad reputation in Ger­ma­ny” by the churches never had this intention – how stupid somebody must be, who intends something like that: to outstrip the German Lutheran Church in its religious failure – while in doing so you are even not permitted to move, but you have to pretend to be stone-dead!

When I am no longer associated with the TM-organizations for a number of years already, then it is not because I would consider their work not to be good – I even consider it to be extremely good and important –, but because the TM-organizations at that time told me, that they would not necessarily need my help anymore for spreading TM – as in all these years I also had continued working on my musical works – and that I should feel free, to again pursue my original concerns in the field of music in a concentrated manner without being disturbed by the demands of the TM-organizations.

Any kind of “bad reputation of the TM-organizations” – from whatever side – could never have prompted me to deny them or the quality of Transcendental Meditation or the great wisdom of Maharishi, as the SPIEGEL-writers would like to see this and discreetly try to falsely attribute this to me – I think, that particularly in this I differ from them substantially.
While they let them themselves be paid by the mercy of advertisement for their dishonorable activity of an extremely doubtful – if not even corruptible or meanwhile already corrupt – sensational journalism, it has always been an extraordinary honor for me, to work for that, which I considered to be good, without any payment – and the same goes for my friends, this principle is partly the basis of our many years of undisturbed friendship and co-operation.

And that I am again devoted “as a freelancer exclusively to art” – as the SPIEGEL-writers pretend to have heard from me – testifies again a great misunderstanding in regard to my work.
As I have said already repeatedly and also made clear in my books, I am devoted in my activity and my power to the best of my knowledge very simply to nature and to the fulfillment of the task that nature via my talent and my innermost conscience personally asked me to do, which es­sen­tial­ly is: to explore the harmony laws of nature for the wellbeing of man via the means of music in the fields of medicine, education and classical music.
And since I am successful in this in a scientifically provable manner, therefore I proudly and full of satisfaction write above a large part of “my” works: “In Gloriam Dei!”
